Craft Ideas for Psalm 34, Taste and See that the Lord is good
Children love candy (well, adults do, too), but we know it’s not always the best choice. These crafts celebrate how we can “taste and see” that God is good. His love is something to savor and share, and it will never melt or give us cavities! A “Maraca pinata” candy bag serves as a gift and noisemaker. A “Sweet Heart Card” offers a decorative reminder that God’s love is sweet. Let’s get crafty!
Bible Crafts on Taste and See, Psalm 34:1-22
Craft one: “Maraca Piñata” You will need:
Paper bags
Markers or crayons
String or ribbon
Small candies
Decorations (stickers, glitter, etc.)
Scissors
Procedure:
Decorate the outside of the paper bag with stickers and drawings.
Add verses and captions directly on the bag or attached from a separate piece of paper.
Place small candies inside the bag.
Use string or ribbon (or tape, if more seal is desired for the piñata effect) to close the bag.
Give the candy bag as a gift, use it as a musical shaker, or break it open like a piñata (or all of the above). Have fun praising God with your craft!
Craft Two: “Sweet Heart Card” You will need:
Construction paper or cardstock
Glue or tape
Markers or crayons
Scissors
Decorations (stickers, glitter, etc.)
Procedure:
Fold and cut the paper or cardstock in the shape of a heart. If desired, glue two pieces together for a double-sided look.
Keep the heart folded so that the outside resembles the shape of an ice cream cone. Decorate with coloring and extra paper to be “ice cream.”
Add verses and captions to both sides of the card, reminding us of the sweetness of God’s love and how wonderful He is.
Add extra decorations as desired. Use the card as a gift or decorative reminder.
