Craft Activities for Children Psalm 91 Safe Beneath His Wings
The book of Psalms is full of important and comforting reminders of God’s love and presence. These crafts focus on Psalm 91, which tells us that God protects and provides for us, no matter what threats come our way. A “Faithful Protection Shield” recounts that He shields us with His love. A “Under His Wings Bird” puppet reminds us that He guards us as a bird guards her chicks. Let’s Get Crafty!
Craft Activities for Children Psalm 91 “Hide Beneath God’s Wing”
Craft one: “Faithful Protection Shield” You will need:
Paper Bags
Construction Paper or Cardstock
Glue or tape
Scissors
Optional Decorations (stickers, feathers, google eyes, fabric, etc.)
Procedure:
Decorate one side of the plate to look like a shield. Cover with aluminum foil for effect, if desired, and add extra decorations to embellish.
Add captions and verses on the shield or attached with paper.
On the other side of the plate, attach paper or pipe cleaner to serve as a “handle” to make the piece look like a shield.
Use as a decoration or a mock shield to remember that God’s faithfulness is our shield.
Craft Two: “Under His Wings Bird” Puppet
You will need:
Paper plates
Construction paper or cardstock
Crayons or markers
Glue or tape
Scissors
Additional decorations
Procedure:
Decorate the top part of the bag to look like a bird face, gluing or drawing parts for eyes and a beak.
Decorate the rest of the bag with verses, captions, and extra “bird-like” elements.
Cut out paper or cloth for the wings, and attach with glue, tape, or staples. Make sure the wings can open off of the bag.
Add extra decorations, if desired, including feathers or stickers. Use the puppet to recall how we hide beneath God’s wings for refuge.
