Craft Ideas for Job 38, God is always in control

The story of Job reminds us that God is always in control, even when we don’t understand life’s trials. God is awesome and powerful and can do amazing things. These crafts celebrate God’s attributes and abilities. A “Mighty God Barbell” reminds us that He is strong. A “Weather Ruler Poster” reflects on His power over nature. Let’s get crafty!

Bible Crafts on Job Spoke to Almighty God, Job 38

Craft one: “Mighty God Barbell”      
You will need:

• Paper plates (large or small)
• Paper towel tube
• Aluminum foil (optional)
• Markers or crayons
• Construction paper
• Scissors
• Glue or tape
• Additional decorations as desired

Procedure: 

1.  Cut a small hole or slits in the center of each paper plate, using the center of the tube as a size guide.
2. Decorate the plates with verses and captions about God’s strength. 
3. Decorate the tube, wrapping it with foil for extra effect, if desired, and adding stickers or other elements. 
4. Place the paper plates on each end of the tube, securing with glue or tape if desired. Use to remember how mighty God is. 

Craft Two: “Weather Ruler Poster”
You will need:

• Cotton balls or stuffing
• Construction paper or cardstock
• Markers or crayons
• Scissors
• Tape or glue
• Stickers, string, pipe cleaners, etc.

Procedure: 

1. Decorate the background of the poster by adding verses, captions, and pictures to a large piece of paper or cardstock.
2. Add weather-related decorations. Glue on cotton “clouds” and string/pipe cleaner “lightning bolts.”
3. Add extra decorations (stickers, glitter, etc.) as desired. Make the scene one weather situation or a collage of several. 
4. Hang or post to remember that God controls all things, even weather!
