Craft Activities for James 2:1-17 and Love your Neighbor as Yourself
Sometimes we judge others based on their appearances or wealth, but God sees all people the same. We are made in His image and precious in His sight. These crafts celebrate diversity and remind children that all people are valuable and welcome to be part of God’s family.
A “Show of Hands” string uses student handprints to rejoice in differences. A “Collage of Characters” poster reminds us that we are all unique, but wonderfully made by God. Let’s get crafty!

BIBLE CRAFT IDEAS FOR YOUR CHILDREN MINISTRY

Bible Craft one: “Show of Hands” String
You will need:
- Construction paper or cardstock
- Markers or crayons
- String, ribbon, or pipe cleaner
- Scissors
- Decorations (stickers, glitter, etc.)

Procedure:
- Have each student trace a hand on a piece of paper.
- Stack the traced hand over several other pieces of paper and help the students cut out the hands. Each student should make enough hands for all students to receive about 3-6 hands (if you have ten students in the class, each child should make 3-6 hands. If you have five, everyone can make five hands).
- Have the students decorate the hands, adding their names, verses or captions, and extra items (stickers, etc.) as desired.
- Distribute the hands so that students receive hands from others.
- Help students punch holes in the hands, and slide them onto a pipe cleaner, string, or ribbon. Hang as a garland or wear as a necklace and remember that all shapes, sizes, and colors of people are made and loved by God!
