This week we’re teaching kids about putting on the armor of God from Ephesians 6:10-20. Use the free lesson downloads below to share this powerful truth with your children’s ministry group. The first lesson includes all the crafts and coloring pages listed below.
This lesson explains to students what the Armor of God is, and briefly describes the meaning and significance of each component of it. Children will grow to value the importance of spiritually protecting themselves with faith in Christ. God provides us with all we need to stand firm against the powers that go against us!
Bible Story Video: Armor of God for Kids
In Ephesians 6:10-17, the Bible tells us that when we follow God, the devil will target us and try to get us to turn away. The good news is, God provides us with armor to stand up against the devil’s attacks.

The Armor of God is a fun visual to talk about with students, but it is important to communicate what it truly means, as well. As frightening as it might sound, there are evil forces at work in the world around us. The good news is that we know God protects and provides for us, no matter what. This message uses some protective “gear” to exemplify the importance and meaning of being protected from harm. Our spiritual armor guards our souls and keeps us safe in Christ Jesus.
Bible Crafts Demonstration
How do we protect ourselves spiritually? What is God’s Armor, and how do we clothe ourselves with it? These crafts are just a few fun examples of how to make great visual reminders of the elements that make up the Armor of God. A paper plate serves as the base for a “shield” of faith; a headband makes a “helmet” of salvation, and a paper towel tube offers a great start to a “sword” of the spirit. Aluminum foil highly recommended!
