Jesus Pays the Price! 
Craft Ideas for God’s Grace (Romans 5)

What does it cost to be saved? Nothing for us…but everything for Jesus! In Christ, our debts are paid and our lives made new. These crafts celebrate the wonderful reminders of Romans chapter 5, which describes how our salvation and righteousness come through Jesus. A special “Ticket to Salvation” Bible Bookmark fits decoratively in God’s Word. A “Lighten the Load” poster illustrates how Jesus takes our heavy burdens and makes us joyful and relieved. Let’s get crafting!

Craft one: “Ticket to Salvation” Bible Bookmark

You will need:

• Construction paper or cardstock
• Scissors
• Stickers or glitter
• Markers or decorating materials
• Glue and/or tape
• String, yarn, or ribbon

Procedure:

1. Cut construction paper or cardstock into a desired shape, perhaps with intention to make it look like a ticket of some sort.
2. Add Bible verses and captions to the paper.
3. Decorate with extra adornments such as glitter or stickers.
4. Attach a ribbon or string to the ticket. Use as a bookmark for a Bible or other book, remembering that God’s word guides our way and gives us a “ticket” to understanding—and Heaven!

Craft Two: “Lighten the Load Poster” 

You will need:

• Paper, cardboard, or cardstock
• Scissors
• Heavy items such as small rocks or sticks (or pictures of large and heavy items)
• Light items such as feathers, cotton balls, or balloons.
• Glue and/or tape
• Decorative materials (markers, crayons, stickers)

Procedure:
1. Decorate the cardstock or paper with verses and captions. Add stickers if desired.  
2. On one side of the paper, tape or glue the heavier items.
3. On the other side of the paper, tape or glue lighter items.
4. Place a cross in the center of the paper with cut paper, popsicle sticks, or drawing.  
5. Attach a string or pipe cleaner to hang, if desired and possible, to remember that Jesus replaces our heavy sins with His forgiveness and righteousness!
