Mother’s Day is a great time for Bible lessons and activities to celebrate the Mom! God’s Word says mother’s are a blessing, so we prepared these teaching resources for children. These Sunday School Lessons are based on various passages. For this week’s curriculum, we’ve included everything you need to teach. Simply download the lesson materials below.

There are several options for this week’s lesson – the first download includes complete teacher notes, craft examples, object lessons, a preschool version, coloring page, and worksheets. Use it in your children’s Bible study this Sunday for Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day Sunday School Lessons

This simple lesson plan for Mother’s Day is based on Ephesians 6:1-3. The PDF download includes 6 original coloring pages and a printable game about biblical mothers. This is a simple lesson plan I’ve written for our kids church on Mother’s Day. My target length is about 20 minutes during the children’s church service. It can also be used for a Mother’s Day Sunday school lesson. I’ll list additional resources at the end of the lesson plan.

Note: The file above includes this lesson plan and many bonus resources like our Bible Moms Cards & Crossword PuzzleGame IdeasColoring Pages, and Kids Interview about Mom.

This free Mother’s Day Bible lesson for children is intended for Mother’s Day, but could be adapted and utilized at any point of the year.  It was first prepared for a Children’s Church setting but would work well as a Sunday School lesson also. Through it, children will learn about mothers referenced in the Bible.  They will also learn practical ways to honor their own mothers.  This lesson plan also includes a game and card making activity.

Mothers are uniquely gifted by God to nurture and teach others, so we have much to learn from them! This Mother’s Day lesson will help children understand that God uses mothers to help us grow in our faith. By looking at mothers around them AND three amazing mothers from the bible, children will be able to identify the positive attributes of a mother’s influence. In addition, a special craft will be created by each child to present to their mother!

Whenever Mother’s Day rolls around, we take time to think of all that our mothers have done for us, and to appreciate and thank our moms with expressions of love. At the same time, though, the holiday can join the negative connotation of Valentine’s Day as a day for card companies and restaurants to make money by piling guilty obligations on loving families. In this lesson, we take a peek at how much God values motherhood and women, as evidenced by some amazing matriarchs in the Bible. There are trends of miraculous conceptions in both Old and New Testaments, and this lesson looks at some of those and the women behind them.

A good mother is worthy of praise! She’s also a great example for an object lesson for Mother’s Day. This highly visual teaching will keep kids laughing and demonstrate the value of listening to their mother’s teachings. Ready to teach?

The Mom Song from Go Fish Guys

I just found this great Mom song on the Go Fish Guys YouTube channel. It’s a kid friendly song about moms. It might be something to show in kids church for mother’s day – or you can just send it to another mom in your life.

The Mother’s Day ministry at Ministry-to-children.com has prepared an exciting lineup of events to celebrate and honor the love, care, and sacrifices made by mothers. The church will host various Mother’s Day games, including engaging and interactive activities suitable for all ages. The children’s ministry has also designed thoughtful Mother’s Day lesson plans for toddlers, and creative ideas for primary school students to participate in Mother’s Day activities. Throughout the event, the importance of a gentle and quiet spirit will be emphasized, while Mother’s Day Bible verses will be shared to highlight the deep connection between a mother and her child, from the mother’s womb to the wise son she raises. Children will be reminded of the comfort and love that mothers provide, and the impact of their influence and teachings will be celebrated.

More teaching ideas for kids church

Mothers hold a special place in our hearts and teaching kids to honor her is profitable for all. It’s hardly necessary to instruct children to love their mothers – that comes naturally! However, learning to respect and obey, as God expects, is a necessary part of a minister’s duties. Lean on the scriptures to bring kids a reliable, nurturing “word” from God’s written treasure chest.

Mother’s Day is upon us! What an awesome time to honor to the mothers in our church. You’ll probably be busy leading crafts and wrapping gifts to send home with the kids but don’t forget the lesson. Usually, on major holidays, I do spend a lot of time crafting with our groups but I always take a little time to present an object lesson. One of my favorite verses to use is: Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction and do not forsake your mother’s teaching. (Proverbs 1:8) Of course, it’s not the only verse you can use but I find kids remember it pretty easily. Here’s how to present this Pin the Corsage Mother’s Day lesson…

“Mothers’ of the Bible” Reading Booklet

Mother’s Day is arriving soon and what better way to teach our youngsters about how special mothers are than to teach them about the mothers in the Bible. This series on mothers will hopefully open their eyes to some of the wonderful mothers that were written about in God’s Word. Here is the list of the mothers in this mother’s of the Bible series.
